Dr. Longoni is a professional nuclear engineer with several years of experience in the commercial nuclear industry, the US Department of Energy national laboratory complex, and as a contractor for the Department of Defense. He has led the development and deployment of technologies in very diverse areas of science and engineering, such as parallel radiation transport methods, engineering acoustics, computational fluid dynamics, and high-performance computing (HPC). In the cyber-security field, he has experience in cryptography, penetration testing, and technical exploitation/reverse engineering. He is currently serving as Executive Technical Director for AI and HPC at FedData Technology Solutions based in Annapolis Junction, MD, where he is building the AI division from the ground up. His current focus revolves around the design and deployment of multimodal retrieval augmented generative (RAG) AI systems. In addition to his AI journey he decided to go back to graduate school, and he is pursuing a master of science degree in AI from Johns Hopkins University.
